My Lesson Prices

First of all I want to mention that based on my work experience these prices are much less than at any of the famous and not so famous learning centres. And quality is so much higher!

I offer small classes (no more than two-three students) and a sliding scale of rates.

Individual lesson (one to one) is $40/hr.

Group lesson (2 students): Grades 1 to 12 – $25/hr. It means you are Ok in general and do not have major problems but want to get 85-100% on your tests.

ALL SERVICES SUBJECT TO FULL HST

For more lessons per week you can -mail, call or visit and we will talk about it.

My lessons usually last one hour.

This happens because of a lack of confidence, which many girls suffer from. When practicing at home try to solve non-typical questions that are not explained by the teacher. Being able to figure out the solution without assistance boosts confidence. Trust me, the more you try to challenge yourself, the more your brain develops. Just do not give up even if you fail several times.
Very often, there are many reasons why this happens. Some students do not focus well and make mistakes here and there which reduces their overall mark. Some do not get more than 75% because they cannot solve the “thinking” questions or have trouble applying their knowledge when questions on the test differ from what they practiced at home. I would recommend practicing all questions from the textbook regardless if they are assigned by a teacher or not. Always try challenging questions from the “Extending” section of the textbook. Do more than is assigned!

How do you teach?

At first I help a student understand the core logical structure of the concepts and methods they had trouble understanding. Then I assign practice questions with an increasing level of difficulty.

What is the size of your group class?

I do not teach more than two students per class. These two students are not necessarily of the same age or grade. Every student works on their own task. I teach one of them while the other is practicing what he/she just learned. During one hour I make sure that I covered all the material and answered all the questions both students came with.
If a student having B for Math at school then he/she needs just a little guidance to improve. In this case I would recommend a group class. If a student is failing or struggling significantly because of a lack of prerequisite knowledge the they need at least one hour of intensive support and should attend an individual lesson.
